Consider a Bonsai Pot with a Humidity / Drip Tray when you want an exact color match between the pot and tray.
A Humidity / Drip Tray is recommended for the optimal health of any Bonsai Tree for the following reasons:
- Since all bonsai pots have holes in the bottom for drainage, the humidity/drip tray will protect the surface of what you are placing the tree on (window sill, table, counter, etc).
- You should leave water in the tray at all times so as water in the tray evaporates, it will create a humid environment for the tree continuously.
- Instead of taking the tree to the sink to water it, you can simply water the tree in place. When watering this way, pour water on top of the decorative pebbles slowly until it penetrates the soil and the excess water comes out of the holes in the bottom of the pot. This method of watering is particularly convenient for larger trees. Fill the rest of the tray up with water daily.
