The Alberta Spruce has flaking or scaling bark and its needles are short which helps to make for a great bonsai. This is a very slow growing dwarf with bright evergreen foliage. Flowers appear as small woody cones, male and female on the same tree and are thin, with smooth and ragged edged scales. Keep outdoors.
