Our ivy topiary has evergreen palmate lobed leaves trained on a wire stem and globe frame. Native to Europe, Africa and Asia. The flowers are greenish-yellow with 5 small petals; they are produced in umbels in autumn to early winter and are very rich in nectar. The fruit is a greenish-black or dark purple berry with one to five seeds, ripening in late winter to mid spring.
On level ground they are creepers; on suitable surfaces for climbing they are hearty climbers. Frank Lloyd Wright once said "Doctors bury their mistakes, architects cover them with ivy."
