The Burgundy bonsai or also known as the rubber plant is a man-made cultivar. The bonsai develops large leaves with a burgundy tint and a red midrib. If grown in direct sunlight the foliage will show its burgundy colors. If kept in an area of low light the foliage will fade to a light green.
