Native to Mexico and the Bahamas, Mimosa bahamensis has very tiny leaves compared to other species of the Mimosa tree. The globose shaped flower heads contain many pink and white flowers and bloom heavily during the summer months. It has been known that some use this species tree for firewood. Also in nature, it feeds many invertebrates with its nectar and pollen that is produced by its abundant flowers.
