Japanese Red Maple Bonsai Tree
(acer palmatum 'shaina')

Dwarf cultivar which means that it grows very slowly and grows to only about 1/3 the size of the standard cultivar. 'Shaina' originated as a witches-broom of 'Bloodgood'. She has the same dark red coloring but does not grow as tall. The center lobe of the leaf is very short and round which sets 'Shaina' apart from other maples and why it makes a great bonsai. Decideous. Keep outdoors.
